Support a great cause!
Hi all
sorry I haven't been very active lately (very busy with schoolwork, as TEE is getting closer). I just wanted to let you all know about a case involving a lot of ratties that need a lot of help.
Perth Rat Rescue and Rehab are currently dealing with a hoarding case that has affected thousands of rats, who have been crammed into a shed with inadequate food, water and housing and left to breed uncontrollably. PRRR is striving to save as many as possible but unfortunately many lives will be lost due to illness, sickness, age and temperament. It's heartbreaking that so many precious ratties have not been given the same life that our babies are given, and they have never experienced what it is to have a doting owner and loving home.
Due to me being restricted by my parents to a limit of two rats...I have decided to help in another way by creating some more PRRR tshirts on my website where FIVE DOLLARS from every shirt sold will be donated to PRRR instead of three. They can be viewed here: http://mustloverats.redbubble.com/sets/45157/works
and are called 'save the rats' and 'save the rats (II)'
Remember this is an awesome cause and the money will go towards food, bedding, water, toys and housing for these ratties...many which also have a lot of littlies to care for due to gender mixing problem!
So support this brilliant cause and grab an awesome Tshirt to show how much you love rats!

just a quick update...
Hey everyone
just to let you know my beautiful boys are doing great! Dougal is having a slight bumblefoot problem but his ear infection is much better and both are becoming big greedy squishies. They really are the most loving companions and bring so much love and laughter into my life. How are everyone else's babies going? I'd love to hear some updates!!

Dougal feeling much better
Hey everyone!
So my beautiful boy is much perkier and happier since his two rounds of antibiotics and I'm very relieved that he seems so much happier. Both boys are great, Nougie getting so fat and squishy and Dougal is a fabulous lap rat.
I hope to update a bit more (school holidays start tomorrow!)

Dougal's Vet Visit
Poor little Dougal's head has been tilted and his one eye is bulgier than the other and we were starting to get worried.
I did a bit of research and came to a conclusion: Dougal must have an ear infection.
Georgia called the vets and made an appointment for the little guy and he went in to be checked out.
He weighs 400g and was given a week's worth of Baytril to treat his ear infection (yes, I was right!).
Hopefully it will clear up his snuffles too.
Dougal protested a bit when we tried to syringe the medication into his mouth so now we have to be crafty. We've hidden it in banana, which almost worked but the piece was too big and he got a bit full. This afternoon Georgia shot the medicine into a piece of bread which worked and he ate the whole thing :D
I'll keep you updated and I hope he gets better soon
